These star kits comes complete and ready to use right out of the box. Stars From Mars is the No. 1 do-it-yourself starfield kit that is easy to install. If you have an attic, climb in the attic, drill some holes, poke the fibers from the kit through the holes, climb down and cut the fibers flush to the ceiling. Like magic, you have stars!
The optical fibre used is the highest grade available. For more than 30 years, Mitsubishi Brand ESKA optical fibre has been used and recommended. Stars From Mars uses ESKA fibre because there is no yellowing (ever), it will not get brittle (ever), and your light output will always be at its maximum output. The Collumator fibre optic illuminator (included with the kit) is UL 153 listed for Canada and the United States. The Collumator operates on 110 volts AC and draws less than one amp (less than a 100 watt light bulb).
Available Ceiling Starfield Kits:
- Small Starfield: Includes 300 Random Stars
We recommend 3 fibres per square foot when you're designing your starfield. A standard bedroom is about 10' x 10'. This small size is 100 square feet. Multiply 100 times 3 fibres per square foot, and you've got 300 stars.
- Medium Starfield: Includes 600 Random Stars
We recommend 3 fibres per square foot when you're designing your starfield. A medium size bedroom is about 13' x 15'. This is 200 square feet. Multiply 200 times 3 fibres per square foot, and you've got 600 stars.
- Large Starfield: Includes 900 Random Stars
We recommend 3 fibres per square foot when you're designing your starfield. A large size bedroom is about 15' x 20'. This is 300 square feet. Multiply 300 times 3 fibres per square foot, and you've got 900 stars.
- Extra Large Starfield: Includes 1200 Random Stars
We recommend 3 fibres per square foot when you're designing your starfield. A large size room is about 20' x 20'. This is 400 square feet. Multiply 400 times 3 fibres per square foot, and you've got 1200 stars.
